La Pelusa

Helen is a cuban/ austrian Director and Choreographer with a strong sense for visual storytelling, movement and aesthetics. Her theatrical backround fuels her creative approach, always pushing to explore new perspectives, marrying film and movement to create a unique outcome. She started classical ballet aged three in Moscow and continued most of her education in Austria. She moved on to study contemporary dance 2009 at Iwanson School of Contemporary Dance in Munich seeking more freedom of movement & expression.

After moving to Vienna she started working as a post- production producer for Red Bull Media House, mostly overlooking projects such as Batalla de los Gallos and BC One for the Latin-American market. In 2019 she created LaPelusa, her Directress Name which comes from her cuban nickname her great-grandfather gave her, as she started getting more and more into directing commercials, music videos & fashion films. 2021 Helen premiered her first full evening theatre production “ Entre Portas”, an immersive dance piece about domestic abuse, she directed and choreographed in Lisbon. More recently Helen directed her first baby commercial for Tommee Tippy UK for the European market and in February 2022 she directed a Campaign for Vinted UK & US. Since August 2020 Helen is co- directing a feature length documentary about old age to be released early 2023.
